Alison has Multiple Sclerosis and lives at home with her husband. She was referred to the Hospice by the Multiple Sclerosis Society nurse based at Wycombe General Hospital in the hope that she would benefit from treatments while her husband rested.
Alison attends the Hospice every Monday for art group for two hours and every Wednesday for daycare. On Wednesday she benefits from the social side of the Hospice, enjoys a relaxing massage from our therapist and takes part in sit-down yoga. While she’s here, her husband works on craft projects or does the weekly shopping.
“I never had any idea that I could draw and paint until I started coming to the art group session at the Hospice. Now I feel I have the confidence to carry on with my new hobby at home. It is also nice to mix with people similar in age to me who have the same interests, and I’m pleased that my husband has some time to himself.”
